Higher education institutions have once again started the new academic year in remote mode.
To support the lecturers of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, ProfITsoft has decided to provide them with computer equipment for remote work with students – modern desktop units and monitors.
Oleksandr Viacheslavovych Petrychenko, Chief Operating Officer of ProfITsoft and a doctoral candidate at the ICS Department, notes: “Previously, the focus was primarily on improving the students’ learning conditions. But the conditions in which the university operates keep changing. That’s why, in this extremely difficult wartime period, the company sees it as necessary to focus its attention, first and foremost, on ensuring the lecturers can work effectively. After all, the significant additional difficulties in running remote classes require greater reliability of their technical equipment.”
The cooperation between the NURE department and the IT company ProfITsoft has continued for more than 20 years – the Internet Technologies Laboratory set up by the company has operated within the University for almost as long. Hundreds of students have passed through this laboratory, also honing their professional skills through work placements at the company. Over this time, a significant number of students, having completed the selection process, have found employment at the company.
Later, ProfITsoft equipped a multimedia laboratory, where not only regular classes are held, but also defences of qualification theses, hearings of dissertations, and sessions of sections at academic conferences and forums.
A very important part of the cooperation for many years has been carrying out academic research under commercially funded research and development contracts. Despite the difficult times, this research continues even now!
The new initiative has found enthusiastic support among the staff of the NURE ICS Department. This new form of cooperation between IT businesses and institutions of higher education, which has perhaps just begun, is undoubtedly important today and holds great promise for the future of Kharkiv and Ukraine!
