Research at the ICS Department is the foundation for training qualified lecturers and specialists in information control systems and technologies.

The Department's work covers methods and approaches to designing the various kinds of support for complex distributed information control systems, hardware and software for collecting and processing information in specialised control systems, and the design of automation systems and microprocessor-based engine control systems.

History of research

Over the years the Department's research has covered a wide range of fields. An important part of it was the R&D project to create a Unified Automated System for Tsunami Warning and Public Alert, led by Professor V. V. Svyrydov.

The Department's staff developed load-bearing structures for the ЕАСЦ buoy hydrophysical station and data-processing algorithms for autonomous buoy stations, took part in several marine expeditions and successfully implemented their developments. This work became the basis of the Department's scientific school.
