Dear students and young teaching staff,
we are pleased to invite you to the presentation event of the comprehensive project Competence Aid for Ukraine (CAFU)!

Location: Online – Zoom link (registration required, which takes one minute)
Goal of the CAFU project: to provide Ukrainian students and young academics with competencies that complement their education, and to create the opportunity for a holistic impact on Ukraine's post-war recovery in line with European Union standards and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Target group: young students from higher education institutions and vocational education establishments, and young people among Ukraine's academic and teaching staff. An accompanying 80/20% ratio will create unique opportunities for students and young lecturers to build understanding and cooperation.
Participation in the CAFU project requires proficiency in English at a level sufficient for communication and understanding educational material (no lower than B1/B2).
Project implementation period: 01.02.2024 – 28.02.2025
Action plan:
1. Selection of 200 participants through a motivational survey, ensuring diverse roles and geographical representation. 70% will be invited from Kharkiv Oblast and 30% from other regions of Ukraine.
2. Delivery of 4 parallel online courses of 8 seminars each, from April to June 2024. In addition, a comfortable physical space for safe digital participation in the city of Kharkiv will be organised by V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
3. Selection of 30 course graduates who will undertake a one-week study visit to Uppsala (Sweden) in October 2024. Transport costs, accommodation and meals during the visit are fully covered by the CAFU project.
4. Creating a long-term network of all 200 CAFU project graduates for mutual mentoring support and synergistic cooperation.
5. Two months of mentoring support to develop individual or group ideas for actions that will have an impact on the community.
6. An ideathon for pitching participants' further actions, during which 15 small grants of 10,000 Swedish kronor per idea will be awarded.
7. Three months of mentoring support to implement ideas, and to test or pilot CAFU education models and approaches in participants' communities.
8. A grand final online event, at which the further actions of CAFU graduates will be presented, their contribution to the implementation of Ukraine's National Recovery Plan (2022) will be discussed, and the project's results will be disseminated among stakeholders and decision-makers.
