The “Modelling and Optimisation of Data Structures in Modern Information Systems” student research club is established to provide research and scientific-practical training for students of the first (Bachelor's) and second (Master's) levels of higher education in the field of modelling and optimising data structures in the development of information systems and technologies.

The club operates on an ongoing basis according to the principles of academic freedom and creative independence of students, and in line with the University's Development Strategy. The club's work is organised according to a plan developed by its supervisors and approved at a meeting of the Department of Information Control Systems (ICS).

Aim and objectives

The aim of the club's activities is to improve the quality of student training by involving them in scientific, experimental and innovative activities related to managing the design and improvement of data structures in modern information systems. This helps develop research abilities and analytical thinking, and builds skills in both individual research work and effective collaboration within project teams, as well as creative thinking and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Scientific areas

  • the engineering and technological area (in accordance with the Methodology for Evaluating the Effectiveness of Scientific (Scientific-Technical) Activity, as determined in the state certification of research institutions and higher education institutions);
  • information technology — as the practical component of developing and managing modern information systems.

Main objectives

  • ensuring the interconnection of the educational process and research by applying theoretical knowledge acquired during study in practice;
  • developing research skills, critical and systems thinking, and the ability to engage in innovative activities;
  • organising scientific seminars, conferences, master classes and workshops to exchange experience and disseminate research results;
  • encouraging students' participation in grant programmes, startups, competitions and IT projects;
  • preparing students to work in today's labour market, where competencies in data structure modelling, analytics and information systems management are decisive;
  • fostering ethical standards and academic integrity among students when conducting scientific research and preparing scientific papers.

Expected results

  • raising the level of students' educational and scientific training and their ability to conduct independent and collaborative research, formulate scientific hypotheses, and interpret results;
  • an increase in the number of publications in scientific journals and in participation in national and international conferences and research competitions;
  • creating an innovative environment that encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and the development of applied research;
  • creating student startups, projects and developments with the potential for patenting and commercial implementation;
  • developing leadership qualities and teamwork skills in the field of IT;
  • strengthening the University's position as a modern educational and research centre in computer science that integrates into the national and international research community.
